Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority Celebrates Flag Day

Dr Juma Al Matrooshi: We renew our promise to our leaders to position the country as a hub for innovators and entrepreneurs

Dubai-UAE: 3 November 2019 – Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) joined the nation in celebrating UAE Flag Day today. Senior officials and employees gathered in front of DSOA headquarters to raise the UAE flag.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Juma Al Matrooshi Deputy CEO of DSOA, said: “Flag Day marks the anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s accession to the office as President of the UAE in 2004. Today, we meet the people of the country in celebrating the nation’s achievements, and we raise our Flag to respond to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai directives, and remember the founding father of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who taught us the importance of our flag as a symbol of pride and leadership.”

He added: “In 2019, the Year of Tolerance, we reaffirm our commitment to the UAE leaders that work relentlessly to consolidate the country’s status as a pioneer in sustainable development, scientific and technological innovation, and foreseeing the future. Owing to their efforts, the UAE has become the happiest Arab country and has the most powerful passport in the world.”

In closing, Dr Al Matrooshi said: “On this occasion, we renew our promise to our leaders that we will continue our efforts to drive economic growth and position the country as a hub for innovators and entrepreneurs in diverse sectors, including technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence and smart city solutions, from around the world.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum declared November 3 as Flag Day in 2013 to celebrate the unity among the people of the UAE and strengthen their sense of belonging to the country.
